Food Safety Protection Manager Certification Requirements For the State of Texas

Because sanitation and safety are fundamental aspects of the food industry, many states have taken certain precautions to ensure that appropriate care is being given to different aspects of business in the food industry. As a result, food safety certification requirements have been put into place in many states, including Texas.

Under Texas State law, a certified food manager is required to be present at all times during operating hours. Under some city and local law, it may be required that multiple managers are present that have taken and successfully passed the final exam for the Texas food protection manager certification course.

While the state of Texas does not require you to take the food preparation manager certification course to obtain the certificate, it is highly recommended that you do take the prep course, which can be taken online as well. If you do not pass the exam the first time, you will be required to pay to take the certification exam a second time.

A 75% grade must be accomplished to successfully become a certified food protection manager in the state of Texas.
